The grand pas de deux—or, indeed, de trois—forms the highpoint of many 19th-century ballets, with dance at its most virtuosic and aristocratic. While rather more wild than aristocratic, my music dances in figurations akin to arabesques, fouetes, and jetés. Overall, the tone is percussive and rhythmic throughout.
